Chiaki Watanabe

渡辺 千昭


Began his photography journey in 1967, exploring many locations.
Published his photographs and articles in magazines and newspapers. He conducts various photograph lectures and is a photograph lecturer at the NHK CULTURE CENTER. He is also a lecturer on expression at Wako University and a representative of the Japan Alpine Photographers Association.
He has covered mountainous landscapes, nature, folklore and many other aspects from Tibet, Tianshan, Altai, Changbai Mountain and various unexplored areas of mainland China, to the more familiar Okuchichibu and Tanzawa mountains of Japan.

Solo Exhibitions
His exhibitions covered the Tanzawa Mountains in 1988, the Okuchichibu Mountains in 1992, as well as the nature and beauty of mountains and flowers in 1993.
Mr. Watanabe was also involved in a joint exhibition with printmakers, entitled “Kita-Yatsugatake winter landscape,” as well as international exhibitions (China, Hungary), a joint exhibition in Japan, and many other exhibitions to which he was invited to show his work.
He is a member of the Japan Professional Photographers Society and the JAPAN-CHINA CULTURAL EXCHANGE ASSOCIATION as well as an auditor of the Japan-China Photo Arts Association.
